Pruning

Pruning is the most common tree maintenance process next to proper watering.  It is often desirable for aesthetic improvement and is necessary for tree health. Dead or broken branches, insect- and disease-infested branches and rubbing/crossing limbs are the first items on the list to be removed, as these are all safety concerns. Additionally we look for specific limbs and branches that can be removed or reduced in size to reduce their weight or resistance to wind load so that they will be less likely experience a failure. It should also be noted that seasonality plays a big part in pruning.

It is vital that proper pruning techniques are utilized, and Trees By Forrest is well-versed in proper pruning timing and techniques.  The American National Standards Institute has developed minimum performance standards (ANSI A300) that we follow closely.  We depart from these standards only with careful consideration, most commonly due to an unsafe tree or situation.
